BuyMertra is an independent online magazine. We try to be clear about how we make money, how we cover brands, and where the limits of our writing are. This page lays it all out.
Our editorial team chooses what to cover. Brands cannot pay to be featured in our articles, conversations, Drops of the Week list, or any other editorial slot. We refuse pitches that come with conditions about coverage.
BuyMertra displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google selects which ads to show based on factors that include your interests, your browsing history, and the ad settings you have chosen with Google. We do not review or pre-approve individual ads. If you see an ad that looks inappropriate or misleading, you can report it to Google directly using the “Why this ad?” link inside the ad. You can also email hello@buymertra.com and we will pass it on.
Ads pay for the site’s hosting, design and writing time. They do not influence which brands we cover or how we cover them.
Some links on BuyMertra are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you buy something through them, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links never change our editorial picks. We only add an affiliate link where the brand or product already deserves the recommendation on its own merit.
Where we know a link is an affiliate link, we mark it clearly in the article or in a note near the link.
Sponsored content is content paid for by a brand. We accept a small amount of sponsored content each year, and every sponsored piece is labelled at the top of the article with the word “Sponsored” and the name of the brand. Sponsored content does not affect our regular editorial coverage of that brand, and editors retain control over the final words and images.
We do our best to keep BuyMertra accurate. Drop times, channels, prices and product details change quickly. If something on the site is wrong, please tell us at hello@buymertra.com and we will fix it. We are not liable for any decision you make on the basis of information published on BuyMertra.
Articles on BuyMertra are opinion and reporting. They are not financial, investment, legal or business advice. If you are running a brand, planning a launch, or making business decisions based on what you read here, talk to a qualified professional.
BuyMertra links to other websites, including brand stores, news outlets, social platforms and Google services. We are not responsible for the content, policies or practices of those websites. Following an external link is at your own risk.
If we publish a factual error, we correct it as soon as we can. Significant corrections are marked at the bottom of the article with the date and a short note about what was changed.
